At this meeting we need to propose Officers for 2027.

I, Brian Thompson, have been the President for four years; I plan some travels and I can be involved but will NOT be able to be the President. We have the duties pretty well shared and have pared things down to minimal cost, minimal number of meetings, etc.

o Bill Dobey is willing to stay as VP – he does a lot of the interaction with the Code Enforcement people so we keep the standards up.

o Mary Thompson as secretary has been doing this for too many years and needs someone to step up and in. Not a large time commitment and she would help transition.

As I said above I am willing to stay involved and help the new President and we may even be able to Co-President.

However, without people stepping up the neighborhood will go downhill and it will happen fast. Look at the crime rates and the condition of the homes near you. We do not impose the tight restrictions nor the costs of a traditional HOA. But we do need involvement or this will come crashing down.

THE ISLAND
It is for sale again, see below. If you do not want that full of apartments the Association will need to get involved. Note they are advertising this as ‘Gulf Access’. The current owner in his tree clearing knocked out the culvert to the river. So, technically we have a ‘retention area’ being advertised as Gulf access. Association needs to be involved. Again requires some new blood. Imagine 87 docks on that peninsula?
